Ecléctico moved to a new email delivery service and website in June of 2021. We're now an independent music discovery platform—a music newsletter for music lovers. Become a yearly or monthly member or show your support with a one-time payment.

Here's everything you need to know about your membership and subscription.


I was an Ecléctico subscriber/member/paid subscriber on Substack. Do I need to subscribe on the new website?

No, you're all set here. All your subscription and membership info was migrated to this new platform (called Ghost) and canceled on Substack. The payment processor, Stripe, remains the same as before and is independent of Ghost and Substack.


What’s the difference between a subscriber and a member?

A member (formerly a paid subscriber when Ecléctico was on Substack) gets an email from Ecléctico delivered to their inbox every weekday morning, has access to the archives on the website, values and supports independent music discovery, and will likely get additional benefits in the future as Ecléctico grows.

What do I get as a member of Ecléctico?

Music streaming services put almost every piece of music ever recorded at our fingertips. The algorithms do pretty well to feed us what we like, what we’re familiar with. Ecléctico is human-powered music discovery that augments the algorithm and takes your ears beyond the computer-powered picks. Your membership helps keep that daily music discovery free and available to all.


How am I charged for my membership?

Your membership and payment information is securely managed and charged via our payment processor, Stripe. Businesses of every size—from new startups to public companies—use Stripe to accept payments and manage their businesses online.


I’m a member/subscriber. How do I log in to the site to explore the archive or manage my account?

Click here or on the “Member/Subscriber Log In” link at the bottom of the page. On the log in page, enter your email address and click the “Send login link” button. After doing so, you will receive an email with a link to log in. You don’t need a password to log in to your account, you only need the link that is emailed to you. Once signed in, your web browser will remember that you are logged in.


How do I change my membership (paid subscription) email or credit card info?

First, log in here if you aren’t already signed in. Click on the “Your account” link at the top of the page to access your account page. There, you can change or edit your info or cancel your subscription/membership. Memberships will renew on the date that you signed up. If you have questions or need help, send an email to armando [at] eclectico [dot] org.


How do I cancel my membership (paid subscription) or unsubscribe?

First, log in here if you aren’t already signed in. Click on the “Your account” link at the top of the page to access your account page. Click the button to cancel your membership/subscription. We do not issue returns for memberships. If you have questions or would like us to manually cancel your membership, send an email to armando [at] eclectico [dot] org.

Note: If you have a membership (paid subscription), unsubscribing from the daily email will not cancel your membership. If you want to unsubscribe and cancel your membership, follow the procedure for canceling your membership above. We do not issue returns for memberships.

If you'd like to unsubscribe from the email newsletter, click the link labeled "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email you receive from Ecléctico. If you unsubscribe and are not a member (paid subscriber), your data will be permanently deleted from our records.


How long does my membership last? Does it expire?

Monthly memberships renew automatically each month. Yearly memberships renew automatically on the date you signed up. Memberships do not expire. If you have questions about your membership, send an email to armando [at] eclectico [dot] org.


How do I change the email address on my account?

First, log in here if you aren’t already signed in. Then click here to update your email address and click the "Save" button.
